Our History

In a moment of sheer chance, four awesome musicians bump into each other in a small town at the very centre of the universe. They mutter words not heard of since the dawn of early man... Working for the Weekend was born!
Working for the Weekend is your go-to four-piece 80s covers band based in Greater Manchester, here to resurrect the golden age of pop, synth, and questionable key changes. Armed with keyboards, bass, drums, and a guitar that’s seen more solos than hot dinners, we’re a bunch of seasoned musicians who've finally stopped messing about in other bands long enough to form one that actually turns up on time. Our mission? To play those classic 80s anthems so authentically, you’ll swear you’ve accidentally walked into a school disco sponsored by a time machine.
We bring the soundtrack of neon-soaked nights and cassette tape glory to every pub, party, and function brave enough to book us. Whether it’s belting out power ballads or getting the whole room bouncing with synth-pop bangers, we deliver a high-energy set that guarantees singing, dancing, and at least one impromptu air guitar performance. So if you’re after a night of pure 80s magic (and maybe a bit of saxophone envy), Working for the Weekend is here to turn up the volume and take you back.
